My heros are artists, particularly writers. This page introduces quotations from writers and literary works which I admire. The quotations are grouped by writer. All works are cited. All quotations are consecutive. I have chosen a single quote from each work or poem that I admire.
The aim of this site is to inspire others to read literature. The ultimate aim is to inspire others to be creative themselves. The works of great writers are signposts to a more imaginative, richer, fuller existence; to a sense of wonder and awe about universe and creation itself; to a realization of joy and happiness in living.
Quoting literature out of context is always dangerous since the greatest literary works are splendidly whole and complete, in and of themselves. Because of this I have chosen, in general, long quotes that may give you a taste for the various works of these writers. I am much more interested in the style and imagery of these writers and their works than anything else. Please consider reading the entire work from which a particular quote is taken.
You may not like some of the artists presented here, or their quotations. That is your prerogative. Nothing, however, here is censored or abridged in any way. If you do not like what has been written by others, simply do not read it.
